The Blog Begins

I literally just had to type into the search bar, “How to introduce yourself in blog post”. Here’s the first thing I came across..

“Today’s assignment: write and publish a “who I am and why I’m here” post. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?”

Here we go.

Who am I and why am I here? I am Bailey Harvard. Daughter of the king. Married to the concrete guy. Mommy to Henry Dan. “Chicken tender” at Harvard Hen House. Fringe and rhinestone collector at Moose Creek Boutique. An awful cook. A try it yourselfer. Flunking student pilot. Stay at home mom. Crafter/mess-maker. Professional iPhone photographer and valencia filter abuser. Busy girl of many hobbies and interests. Story teller.. In short.

Why should they read your blog? Well, they probably shouldn’t. I’m kind of a bad influence. Bad influence on the pocket book. Bad influence on your marriage if you wanted 50 chickens and hubby says only 10. Hey, it all works itself out. We negotiated and now have 50. He’s over it and now loves chickens. Right, honey?

I document everything. If I don’t have a picture of it on my phone, it probably didn’t happen. I love sharing updates on projects, how-to’s and how-not-to’s. I usually forego instructions, look at the illustrations and hope for the best. These will probably make for the best blog entries.

I love teaching about chickens and will talk about them with anyone who has ears.  Have a question about your feathered friend? I’ve got an answer. If not, I’ll make something up.

I’ve got horrid style but some people like the frilly things I post for grabs on my online store, Moose Creek Boutique. And if I’m lucky, they’ll buy them. I’ll most likely blog about those things too but i’ll be home wearing my pink mud boots with chicken poop on them, skinny jeans and one of my husbands t-shirts.

I’m a builder. I married a builder. He’s building a company. I’m working on mine. We’ve started building a family. I love watching all things good evolve or people becoming successful with their small business. Have something you’re building worth sharing? Contact me! Heck, I’ll “build” a blog about it.

I’m a rambler but really want to cut to the chase. My husband and I were blessed with a baby boy January 17th 2018. I’ve been afforded the opportunity to be a “stay at home mom”. I’ve never felt like I was cut out for the stay at home gig as it sounded pretty boring an monotonous.  I love hanging out and caring for my “Bug” yet my mind often wanders outside of “momming”. What else can I do with a child on my hip? How can I reach out and share the cool things we are up to once we finally get to it? My hope is that my blog will be inspiring to others who live a busy life but still want to hang on to other interests and hobbies or may want to try something new. Start a side biz or collect chickens? Anyone? I hope my ill-written knowledge is beneficial or at least entertaining and my funny fails can bring a smile to someones face that can relate.

I think thats all for now. Adios “yall” ❤

Henry’s Newborn Photo Sesh

Newborn photo sessions.. I’m assuming it’s not just in our case. If you have a boy, SOMEONE will get peed on before it’s all said and done.

Henry was a “dream baby”.. That means he was a sleepy boy. He slept the entire session which lasted about two hours. I was amazed at how the photographer could mold this little limp human into a puddle of cuteness without waking him up. Granted, he was only 9 days old at the time. But how he didn’t wake up during the squeals after she and I both were peed on is beyond me. Yea, he peed on us both but momma wanted “nakey” photos of her 8 pound 10 ounce boy. Luckily, I brought an extra dress to change into for our first family photos just in case this were to happen. Diana, our photographer pulled thru the rest of the session in soaked blue jeans. (You go Diana).

Note: To the ladies who want their first family photo with their naked bundle of joy held between them and their partner, TURN THE BABY TOWARDS YOUR PARTNER! #yourewelcome

Although our photographer offered cute props and outfits, I wanted to go with neutral colors and an all natural route. Hence, naked Henry. I did, however, have one request. This chicken obsessed gal wanted a photo of her baby in a chicken egg. So I found a digital download online of said egg, sent link to Diana for approval and man did she deliver!

Diana Andersen specializes in newborn, maternity and family photography. She is the with photoshop (see Henry inside an egg for proof). Diana is located in Worland, Wyoming and works out of her home based studio, which is so cozy! She blogs about some of her sessions and shares great insight on how to prepare for sessions and when to book based on how far along you are in your pregnancy, for maternity photos as well as newborn. After having your maternity session with her, you’ll definitely want to use her for babies newborn photos! She offers great photo packages with very affordable pricing which includes a print release! You may also order prints through her as well.
